Project !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! achieves its first milestone: we have (compression) ignition! Plus the bucket hydraulics work, which is a nice bonus.

TL;DR version - rebuilt starter and new fuel filters. Long version - similar but with more false starts, blood, and swearing.

Downside is he doesn’t want to actually move - no hint of either forwards or backwards action. Hopefully that’s just fluid: the transmission and power shuttle reservoirs were both full when I first checked, but now I’ve run the engine for a while they’re both off the bottom of the dipstick. No fluid pissing all over the ground, but the belly is black and sticky so I suspect he’s been dripping it away over the years he’s been parked.

Had to check this wasn’t another project from our resident sheep farmer.  What do you have planned once it’s running?

Dig holes for the sake of digging holes, mostly. It came with the property and I have no actual practical use for it - getting it running’s just a “beca u se it’s there” project. I’ve got some landscaping t hat needs doing, but most of it’s not  really suitable for a cra w ler loader - a tractor with a backhoe would actually be much more useful.

So o nc e I’ve got it running, I’ll probably just deal with the more obviously tired fini te -life parts , maybe slap a coat of paint on it, play with it for a while, and sell or trade it.
